What cool things have you been doing lately?

I'm a poet. For a few years I've been performing and putting on shows in the Fringe, and I had fun, but I felt like there was something I was missing in that competitive, quite masculine world.

I first fell in love with poetry as an intimate experience: secrets being whispered to me from between the pages of a book read beneath the covers in bed, so when I wrote my own poetry show, I wanted it to feel like that.

I decided to tour 10 Mistakes Every Girl Makes in her Twenties to living rooms instead of theatres, collaborating with the kind of women my poetry is about (who tend not to come out to come out to see poetry, because it's never usually about them.) I've done 6 shows so far, have another 6 booked in and am still looking for more hosts to take part. You can find out more about the project here: www.rachelshorer.com/10-mistakes

Which girls are doing cool things in your world?

I love Cat Neligan's The Creative Introvert podcast for the confidence it gave me to own my Introvert self.

Vanessa Kissulu is a poet who makes me howl with laughter and puts my experiences into words, here's one of her poems to start you off: https://youtu.be/KFk8-sr_CIs

What was the last book you read?

Eleanor Oliphant is Conpletely Fine by Gail Honeyman. Heartbreaking, tender and funny. Loved it.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

THIS QUESTION IS TOO HARD!!! But if I really hard to choose just one, f*ck it: Africa by Toto.
